Volunteering at Diversitat
Diversitat welcomes volunteers to assist in the following areas of the organization:
Aged Care
Assistance with the Planned Activity Groups – Working with older clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to reach their full potential by in group activities and one to one games/chats/walks.
Barbeque/Meals : Assisting with the preparation/cooking/serving of meals and also keeping tea/coffee making areas updated in each room.
Friendly Home Visiting Service: We welcome volunteers who speak a second language to become involved in this service which offer a weekly visit of approximately one hour to isolated CALD clients living at home.

Arts and Events
Pako Festa – There are a number of opportunities for volunteers to become involved with this exciting event! Opportunities range from pre-event activities like distributing posters, to assisting with mail-outs and office duties, to working with Pakington Street traders and local residents. Duties on Pako Festa day itself might involve assisting with traffic management and crowd control, distributing programs, setting up and dismantling displays and signage and relaying messages.

Wholefoods
Wholefoods is a distributor of organic, fresh and local produce based in Geelong CBD. Opportunities exist for volunteers to assist in running the store, dealing with customers, stocking shelves and learning some retail management skills. There are also opportunities to assist in the Wholefoods café which provides excellent coffee, light lunches and nutritious snacks.

94.7 The Pulse
This is Geelong’s own community radio station! While the station deals with multicultural programs and content, much of its programming is also devoted to the broader community, sporting events, arts, community services, news and music. The station is almost entirely run by volunteers so there are MANY opportunities to become involved in radio broadcasting, production, programming and technology!

Diversitat Creative Recycling
Diversitat Creative Recycling is a community not-for-profit organisation which collects and recycles clean, non-toxic industrial and commercial off cuts – WASTE!
Diversitat gives you the chance to do your bit to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle by turning this WASTE into ART. The group provides an alternative resource for art and craft, science and technology, music, theatre and stage props, events and parties.
Diversitat Creative Recycling also holds a variety of art and craft workshops for both primary and secondary students held after school, Saturday mornings and during school holidays. We also regularly conduct workshops for teachers and lovers of craft.

Immigration and WelfareTeam
The Geelong Refugee
Education and Assistance Team (GREAT) program is a volunteer
based homework support program aimed at assisting refugee school students
and their parents with numeracy and literacy skill development. You can
volunteer to be part of this project.
