This program, funded by the Commonwealth Government, provides initial English language training to newly arrived migrants. AMEP is an English language program for eligible migrants. The course provides for up to 510 hours of English as a Second Language (ESL) training free of charge. Participants work towards achieving a Certificate of Written and Spoken English (CSWE). Subject to individual assessment, some participants can receive an additional 400 hours of ESL training as preparation to undertake the CSWE.
