Donations required for Asylum Seeker Food Bank

The cupboard is bare - Can you help us re-stock it?

The Diversitat Asylum Seeker Food Bank is available to all asylum seekers who reside in Geelong and the surrounding areas and is open each Tuesday from 12pm-2pm.

We require donations of non-perishable food items to compliment the weekly delivery of fresh produce supplied by Second Bite. All unopened, within used by date, in good order, non-perishable food items are accepted but the following list are items most popular so we require a constant supply:-

  • UHT milk
  • Oil
  • Honey
  • rice (Sila basmati)
  • red kidney beans
  • white beans
  • black eyed beans (white beans with black spot)
  • white bean with red wrinkle
  • chickpeas
  • yellow split peas
  • green/brown lentils
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • cumin
  • saffron
  • chilli
  • coriander
  • turmeric
  • cinnamon
  • ginger

Non-perishable items can be dropped off at the Diversitat Belmont office (33 Mt Pleasant Rd, Belmont) anytime Monday-Friday 9am-5.00pm.

Donations of fresh food are also accepted on a Tuesday morning between 9am-11am only.
