Jhoanna Lynn B. Cruz is a Palanca award-winning writer who teaches linguistics, literature and creative writing at the Department of Humanities, of the University of the Philippines (Mindanao). She completed a Master of Arts in Language and Literature and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, both with high distinction, from De La Salle University – Manila. She currently makes her home in Davao City, with her two children.

Jhoanna (aka Joy) is visiting Australia to present a paper at the Asia-Pacific Writers Conference in Perth and to do a few poetry readings in Sydney and Melbourne (Geelong).
