| Confidence building for new community leaders |
|
Organised by the Settlement and Community Services team, the Sudanese and Liberian participants said that they now felt more confident and empowered to manage their respective community membership and associations. The Leadership Course covers Victorian Consumer Affairs "Model Rules", the legal requirements and procedures governing associations, basic computer skills, keeping financial records, how to target and apply for funding, completing accountability reports for grants, minute taking and a host of handy tips on managing their associations. Congratulations to all involved! |
Diverstiat's Sudanese and Liberian community leaders have now completed the Leadership Course facilitated by Mark Herd at the Northern Community Hub. The next communities to undertake the course and make the first steps towards self sufficiency will be the Congolese and Afghan, with the Karen and Karenni community leaders completing the eight session course earlier this year.
