Badminton ‘Come and Try’ Day

In late July, Diversitat through it’s Sports For You Too (S4U2) program, funded by VicHealth, held its first ‘Come and Try’ Badminton session for the Karen, Karenni and Congolese communities at the LeisureTime Centre, Bell Post Hill.

The aim of the event was to advocate inclusion, promote exercise and fitness, and welcome these newer communities to this local sporting club. The day was filled with excitement and fun, as people from all different backgrounds learnt new skills and participated in friendly competitions. Some participants had never played before, others had some basic skills, but everyone had a go and was playing like a 'pro' by the end of the day.

There was an amazing turn-out and the S4U2 program representatives would like to thank the representatives from Badminton Victoria, Badminton Geelong and Leisure Networks who made this day such a huge success!
